Formulargröße festlegen
Zur Formulargestaltung habe ich zwischen 1.152 x 720 Pixeln auf einem 12″ MacBook und 2.560 x 1.440 auf einem 27″ iMac. Abzuziehen von der verfügbaren Höhe sind die Pixel für Menubar (22) und das Dock (±60) – ab El Capitan sind beide optional sichtbar.
Die verfügbaren Höhen und Breiten für Subforms, in der Verwendung als Widget, sind noch kleiner. Es bleibt kein Raum, um rund um die Formularobjekte 20 Pixel ungenutzt zu lassen.
Ich brauche ein Objekt im Formular, das die Formulargröße bestimmt und das mir hilft, sofort zu sehen, wo ich noch Platz habe. Dazu verwende ich ein Rechteck unten rechts mit den Eigenschaften:
- Bewegen in horizontal und vertikal
- Unsichtbar als Standard
- als roten Farbklecks
Das Rechteck lege ich auf Seite 0 des Formulars, falls ich doch mal mehr als eine Formularseite brauche. Außerdem wird es auf Seite 0 nicht ungewollt selektiert.
Das Formular selbst wird in seiner Größe auf die Größe dieses unsichtbaren Rechtecks festgelegt, mit beiden Rändern auf 0.
Ein einfaches rot ist zu langweilig. Deswegen ist das jetzt roségold.
Um nicht jedesmal die Vergrößerungseinstellungen, die Sichtbarkeit, Füllfarbe und Rahmen einstellen muß, habe ich das Rechteck mit diesen Einstellungen als Vorlage gesichert.
Die Bildschirm-Fotos wurden auf einem 4K iMac in 4D 14.4 geschossen. Ist die Schrift scharf, verwendet 4D ein Systemobjekt. Erscheint die Schrift ausgefranst, zeichnet 4D das Objekt selbst, dann ist dieses Objekt kein System-Objekt.

Regarding subform-widgets available space is even smaller. There is no room left to surround objects with 20 pixels of nothing.
I need a form-object, that determines the size of the form and helps me to see easily where the form ends. I place a rect in the lower right hand corner with these parameters set:
- move both horizontally and vertically
- invisible by default
- as a red rect, no frame
I place the rect on page 0, in case I really need more than one page. Besides that, I can’t select that rect incidentally.
The formsize itself is based on the rect with both margins set to 0.
Simple red is too dull nowadays. So I use rosé gold instead.
I seldom need another rect on a form, therefor I set this kind of rect as template.
The screenshots were taken on a 4K iMac running 4D 14.4. Sharp text means 4D uses a native object. Text is blurry if 4D draws its own object, which means this is a non-native object.
